Create Desktop or Taskbar Shortcut to Lock Computer

You can create a shortcut on your desktop or taskbar to lock without using keyboard and just with click of a mouse by following these steps:

  1. Right click an empty spot on the desktop, select New -> Shortcut.
  2. In the Create Shortcut dialog box, type the following in “Type the location of the item” text box:
    • rundll32 user32.dll,LockWorkStation
  3. Click Next and then provide some name for your shortcut, it can be anything like “LockThisNow”.
  4. Hit finish

Now you can drag this new Shortcut anywhere you want even on your task bar for easy access.
